Return For Service Agreement

For the calculation of the amount owed, the remaining percentage of the return commitment is multiplied by the initial amount of the grant granted. Interest on this debt is calculated at an interest rate set by the Treasury Board and is part of the debt. When an employee withdraws before complying with a repayment obligation, the outstanding commitment is converted into debt owed to the Government of Alberta. Staff members who do not meet the return obligation are required to repay the remaining financial assistance. The Assistant Director may waive the obligation to return when circumstances not controlled by the worker make it impossible to carry out the obligation. The Assistant Director may authorize the performance of a duty of service with an employer outside the Government of Alberta. All agencies, boards of directors and commissions under the Public Service Act are generally approved as appropriate employers for the performance of a return obligation. This directive relates to the requirement for Alberta public servants to participate in development initiatives. Some resident training places require you to enter into a Return of Service (ROS) agreement with the provincial/regional government.

A ROS requires that you practice medicine in a particular field once you have completed your resident training. Other Development Initiatives – The repayment requirement for employees receiving financial assistance for a development initiative other than training leave is generally two working days for each $100 financial assistance. For the purposes of a development initiative, each authorized absence accounts for the obligation to repay, such as annual leave. B, casual sick leave, sick leave and statutory leave. This describes the requirement for staff involved in development initiatives to meet a return-of-service obligation and what happens if they do not meet that obligation. Most of the time, ROS`s commitments are intended to serve rural or sub-commanding communities, i.e. communities far from major cities. Candidates who correspond to these positions must be eligible for candidates and must sign the ROS agreement as soon as they agree.

Information about ROS agreements, including the appropriate point of contact for questions, can be found in the specific program descriptions. Training Leave – The return service formula, which generally applies to workers who receive a percentage of salary (training leave), is the lowest of the two: in the CaRMS process, a number of residence positions require return-of-service (ROS) obligations. All dedicated ROS positions require a signed ROS agreement. These positions are identified as both IMG and CMG-ROS positions on the CaRMS site. All persons who correspond to a ROS stream must sign a return contract before they begin to reside with the agency sponsoring the position. The success of the training depends on the agreement signed or not.
